This is example how environment design is site specific. The artist involed are conscious of the ethnic/social demographics in order to create the sense of placeness. I think that it works and as far as our VFX Set extension project we should observe the location and take in account the community so they feel that they are represented in there own environment. Just a thought! even though we can,if we want, totally take the site out of context like make it in another country or planet, that is what I love about CGI!! Anyways these are some cool videos & flicks of the the new Metro Gold Line running to the East Side of the River.
Adobe LA is an arts collective of architects and designers including Ulises Diaz, Gustavo Leclerc, Laura Alvarez and Barbara Jones. The artist team created a series of benches with tile rugs at the platform and a large scale free standing sculpture inspired by the striking and colorful design culture of Eastside living rooms, shops, cars, and toys. By researching local residential and urban design culture, Adobe LA collected a variety of design motifs that survey what local residents are comfortable with and proud of, and manifest this knowledge into an artistic outcome in the station environment.
